Beyond conventional theatre, there are other paths in which an actor/actress can find his/her career. Sergio Claramunt, artistic director for PAYASOSPITAL, has worked, for years, taking humour, laughter and fantasy to children in hospitals. This course, that, is specially addressed to Clowns, proposes to get to know this other reality, that occurs in the paediatric wards of hospitals, and that requires a specific training.

It's the "más difícil todavía". Addressed to those that are not afraid to make other people laugh. We want to cultivate during these five days this deep, close character we all carry within: our own Clown. In opposition to the model "super", in front of the bravery of heroes, this is about appearing helpless, vulnerable as an antihero that is not really aware and... to have fun.

Each theatre play has a dynamic, a rhythm, an atmosphere. Sali Cervià, a member at the teaching team at Estudis makes a proposal to approach the dramatic text taking the Lecoq technique as a learning source. She invites us to discover on each scene those elements that are essential and to inhabit the characters to bring them up on stage.

The goal of this course is to explore from the contemporary point of view the sources and resources from which Commeddia Dell'Arte feeds. There will be exercising in collective (canovacci) and individual (lazzi) play. His work method is based on the improvisation, the use of masks and the precision of the gesture. The study of this style that captivated Renaissance Europe is a fundamental basis to understand today's theatre.
