Estudis proposes to work on circus "entries" and comic numbers. This course, taught by Merche Ochoa gives technical keys to be on the arena and the stage and to grow that lovely character we all have within: our on clown. It is the ¡más difícil todavía! only addressed to those that don't feel shy about making other people laugh.

The voice is a gesture that has direction, shape and that acquires meaning in space. Breathing and body posture are the grounds for a well supported and vibrating voice. In the lab we discover relationships, often unconscious, between breathing, emotion and expression. Through this long research process we re-cognize our own voice and this allows to replace the old patterns with new ones.

Nico Kohen is a member of the pedagogic team of Estudis. His proposal is to experiment in front of and behind the camera to analyze thoroughly the language of the cinema. Old movies are analyzed, new prominent figures are created, sequences are reinvented and scenes are filmed. By applying Lecoq's teachings to the cinematographic interpretation we re-discover the intimate relationship between theatre and cinema. Sergi Lopez, disciple of Lecoq, says:
maybe the difference between theatre and cinema is just a matter of scale: when I do cinema I work on the detail, I focus the action.

The goal of this course is to explore from nowadays the most important sources and resources of that nourish The Commedia dell'Arte. We will exercise both the collective (canovacci) and the individual game (lazzi). The method of work is based on the improvisation, the use of masks and the precision of the gesture. The study of this style, which captivated Renaissance Europe, turns out to be a fundamental base to understand current theatre.

Each play has its own dynamics, rhythm, atmosphere. Sali Cervià is a member of the pedagogic team of Estudis. Her proposal is to approach a dramatic text taking the Lecoq technique as a learning source. We are invited to discover on each scene those elements that are essential and to inhabit the character in order to put then on Stage.

This course Works on the conjunction between the theatrical creation and experimentation and the social critic and intervention, without losing any commitment with either of them. The goal is an open and practical form of art that can be a powerful yet imperceptible vehicle for transformation.
We want to bring out the ability of the stage arts to transform and be transformed, to experiment and go further than just a vague questioning of our reality.
